A Young Woman’s Abusive and Hazardous Drinking Leads To a DUI, Mental Health Concerns, Depression, Time In The City Jail, and Love, Relationship, and Dating Problems

Jesse had an awfully difficult time maintaining a job. To be sure, due to her lethargy and lack of motivation, she was out of a job far more often than she was gainfully employed. And when she did get employment, she had an unusually hard time getting to work on time, she regularly received less than satisfactory performance evaluations, and she called off sick so consistently that she usually got fired a few weeks after she began working. To no one’s wonder, one of the outcomes of Jesse’s less than great work history was the fact that she was almost totally broke most of the time.

Regardless of Jesse’s deplorable employment record and financial misconduct, then again, somehow, someway she made it a point to drink in a hazardous and abusive manner much of the time. Not surprisingly, her irresponsible and excessive drinking also led to a host of dating, relationship, and love issues through the years.

Based on her hazardous and irresponsible drinking, it came as no big shock when Jesse got arrested for a second DWI. When she went to court, the magistrate told Jesse that her alcohol-related actions was awful and, consequently, he was going to sentence Jesse to serve twelve months locked up in jail.

Time In Jail To Think About The Devastating Results of Irresponsible Drinking

During her time in jail, Jesse was expected to learn more about alcohol facts, about the adverse consequences of abusive and excessive drinking, and she was expected to get alcohol therapy. The magistrate underlined the fact that unless Jesse gets professional alcohol treatment and learns how to live a life of sobriety, she will most likely be spending a lot more time in the municipal jail.

Jesse articulated that she grasped what the magistrate was saying but she still claimed that placement in the local jail was not the most realistic ruling. The magistrate disagreed and claimed that it was his professional duty to keep individuals off the streets who drive and drink and who receive one or more DWIs. To back this up, the magistrate outlined some honored, comprehensively researched alcohol statistics that pointed to some of the negative results that are related to excessive and abusive drinking.

Even though Jesse realized that she drank in a hazardous manner, she never felt that she was a person who was addicted to alcohol. So it was quite a surprise when Jesse began having symptoms of alcohol withdrawal about seven hours after getting locked up in jail.

To manage her alcohol withdrawal symptoms in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was life flighted to a rehab hospital for alcohol detoxification and then returned to the county jail. While in jail Jesse undertook a mental health exam for her depression and was given alcohol counseling but due to the fact that she received this rehab as something that was imposed upon her, she failed to take ownership of her abusive drinking.

When her time in the city jail was finished, the judge without faltering announced to Jesse that she would be under rigorous surveillance and would be mandated to take periodic random breath alcohol tests.

After hearing how Jesse did not take ownership of her drinking circumstances and how she grudgingly followed the therapy protocol while in the county jail, the magistrate knew that it was simply a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her hazardous and excessive drinking behavior. As the judge reflected on Jesse’s circumstance, he couldn’t help but think about how some individuals never figure things out and learn how to live in an adult and effective manner.
